What if you miss a dose of Ativan?:

You should ask for immediate medical help if you suspect that you have exceeded the recommended dose. Some signs of overdosing include: giddiness, lack of orientation, lowering of heart beats, problems with breathing, inability to walk or talk, loss of consciousness and appearing to be drunk.

Be very careful when operating machinery or driving or doing any other activity that can be dangerous. This is because Ativan can make you sleepy and also make you feel dizzy. If you have these effects stop doing the activities.

Since alcohol could make you feel more giddy and sleepy, you should avoid it while on Ativan. Alcohol could also increase the risk of seizures if you are taking Ativan to control seizures.

Ativan could increase the risk of feeling sleepy if it is taken along with antidepressants, antihistamines, alcohol, sleep medicines, drugs that relieve pain, medicines for managing anxiety and seizures and drugs that are used as muscle relaxants. Therefore, you should talk to your doctor about all the medications that you are taking and do not take any drug without prior consultation with doctor.
